"米カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校の行った研究では、米国の 11 〜 12 歳の子供を対象にしたとのこと。いじめによる敵対行為に同じように敵対行為を示した子供とそうしなかった子供とを比較したところ、敵対行為を示した子供の方が成熟していることが分かったという。このような子供は、男子の場合は教師から社会的資質が高いとの評価を受けることが多く、女子はより好かれ、教師や同級生から称賛されることが多かったとのこと。"
